21 years after being worn by the superstar Aaliyah , that was tragically killed in an airplane accident in 2001, the dress has returned to the red carpet again. 

Aaliyah donned the dress at the VMA’s in 2000 and it has made a return to the same award show . The dress is affectionately named the ‘Aaliyah’ dress and to pay homage to the singer it appeared this year . It was worn by social media influencer Bretman Rock. Bretman states he was wearing the exact dress as Aaliyah . Not sure if he meant the same dress or her dress exactly , I would think her estate would have that..
