New Music Friday: Cardi & Megan Thee Stallion, Tee Grizzley featuring Chris Brown & Mariah The Scientist and Young Nudy featuring Latto & Sexxy Red

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion team up again after three years of making history . Cardi announced the single on Sunday in an Instagram video on a tennis court. There had been rumors people spread that the two had a collaboration in the works , however neither confirmed or denied.

This is Megan’s first song since the sentencing of Tory Lanez, for the shooting that ruined the both  of their lives . So Cardi teaming up with her seemed honorable, since it doesn’t seem like the industry is attaching themselves to Megan these days . 

The song gives a Spanish vibes with a vulgar lyrics referring to their lady parts and some shots being thrown throughout the song . The video is a visual masterpiece but what Cardi B video isn’t amazing . The colors and the fashions are giving budget , something female rappers in the game 10 plus years can’t say for themselves .

The cover art for this song was released a couple of months ago and a snippet previewed with a release date . However , days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and no release. The official release was announced on August 31 for a September 8th release date. 

The song sounds unfinished and honestly Tee Grizzley could have removed himself from the song and gave it to Mariah and Chris. However , the “You know I got a man” is catchy , Mariah’s tone is great on the song . It does seem very auto-tuned , especially Chris Brown’s vocals and the video looked like AI. The support will come for the song because of Chris and Mariah , even if we have to crop Tee Grizzley vocals off the song completely . 

 

Young Nudy is one of Atlanta’s upcoming rappers in the city . He put out his Gumbo album in February, which featured Atlanta native 21 Savage and Key Glock. After the popularity of the song “Peaches and Eggplants”, he has returned with a female alternative to the original song .  So Sexyy Red and Latto took on  the task in a collaboration , which shows how over sexualized the female rap culture is at this point . 

Latto later hops on the song and has since caused some controversy  with rapper Coi Leray , after mentioning her father Benzino in a bar. Latto has been on a mean feature run and I don’t think she’s stopping anytime soon . The  two additions to the song helps Young Nudy get more recognition , but overall the remix was not needed .
