Dear EJ Johnson,
You have every right to love fashion, take up space, experiment with your style, and wear whatever makes you feel good. But when confidence turns into publicly disrespecting Rihanna or anyone else while constantly comparing yourself to women, it starts to look less like confidence and more like insecurity.
Fashion has never been about proving that you look better than somebody else. It’s about expression, creativity, and knowing how to make a look work for you. And if you’re going to critique women’s fashion while bragging that you look better than the women wearing it, the conversation naturally becomes about whether you’re practicing the same standards you’re preaching.
There’s also something uncomfortable about making jokes or comments about women’s bodies and clothing when you’ve publicly embraced fashion as a form of self-expression. Nobody should be shamed for their size, but nobody gets a pass to shame someone else either.
Rihanna has built an entire fashion empire by taking risks, breaking rules, and wearing what she wants. You can dislike a look without disrespecting the woman wearing it.
So, EJ, wear the clothes. Have fun with fashion. Be bold. Be unapologetic. But leave the unnecessary comparisons and disrespect behind.
Because looking good should never require making somebody else look bad.
— Respectfully,
From someone who believes just because you have the coin , don’t mean you should put it on..
