Fashion Icon: Kimberly "Lil' Kim"Jones

Kim has always been the canvas for all of the most important fashion designers ever . Her and her stylist Misa Hylton were always up for the task of taking risks . From her hair down to the lipstick she wore. Her style was always very adventurous and unique , she cultivated the 90’s with her sex appeal and fashion trends.

Every girl in the hood wanted to dress like Kim . She was one of our first fashion icons in the hip hop community. She actually wore the items she rapped about and exposed us to designers we had never heard about . She has walked in so many fashion shows over the last two decades , most recently The Blonds ..

"No Matter What They Say,"
“I Momma, Miss Ivana / Usually rock the Prada, sometimes Gabbana / Stick you for your cream and your riches / Zsa Zsa Gabor, Demi Moore, Prince Diane and all them rich b***hes”
“No Time”
She influenced a whole culture to go and experience a different lifestyle . If you don’t remember this look then you may be too young..

Her looks were categorized by brands . You can go back in the archives and see her best Chanel looks and Louis Vuitton looks. Even down to something as small as an earring.

Misa pushed her to drive the culture and Kim was always up for whatever .

You can say whatever you want about her but she will always be the Queen B. She’s influenced so many upcoming artists , whether they want to admit it or not. More than likely Kim did it first , the color hair , playing with eye contacts , even painting herself in Louis Vuitton ...she was fearless and it wasn’t much she wouldn’t  do..

Which has been copied .. however she was paying homage. That is all Kim asks is to be given credit for the trends and looks she started *cough* Nicki *cough*

This picture has been recreated several times and just think she was only 18 when she took this..

These days female rappers like Cardi B pay homage to her all the time and her paving the way and connecting the fashion world to hip hop is phenomenal.

Here are some of my favorite Lil Kim looks..
